Top 5 Places To Get Married In Socorro

Socorro is a nice, small town with less than 10,000 residents. In addition, about 2,000 students attend the public research university here called New Mexico Tech. Even in a town of this size, there are some good options for places to get married.

5. At Home What could be more intimate than getting married in your own home? You could get married at a family home on either side, a home you and your beloved will share, or at the residence of a friend. Have a house party as you would for other joyous occasions.

4. Someone's Backyard If you like the outdoors and/or have too many guests to fit inside a house, a backyard wedding can be fun. Depending on how many people RSVP, you may need to borrow or rent some chairs. Potluck, barbecue, catering? It's up to you how you celebrate.

3. Courthouse Getting married at the courthouse is still a popular option. Courthouse weddings are budget-friendly and you can still make your day special by dressing up. You could get your license, book an appointment with a judge, and then celebrate afterwards.

2. New Mexico Tech There are many places to get married on the New Mexico Tech campus. You could have your ceremony anywhere from the athletic field, to the ballrooms, and more. If you met your sweetheart in college, getting married at your alma mater is a romantic idea.

1. Church (or other place of worship) If you and your beloved attend the same church, getting married at a church might be an easy decision. On the Socorro County Chamber of Commerce's website, six religious organizations are listed and I'm sure there are more than that in the area. However, if you don't attend church regularly, attend services at different places of worship, or the church isn't welcoming and accepting of the two of you as a couple, you may need to get a little more creative.
